Payward’s Kraken Strategy Expands Into a Broader Financial Infrastructure Play

The attacker behind Bitget’s $387.5 million breach has moved about $83 million in stolen XRP from three holding wallets, while roughly $75 million remains in the original accounts. Bitget says its protection fund will cover the loss, customer balances are unaffected, and withdrawals are scheduled to resume in stages from Sept. 28 through Oct. 2.

Payward-owned Reap is preparing to add a Mexican peso stablecoin to its card, cross-border payment and treasury products through its global partnership with Visa. The plan points to rising interest in local-currency stablecoins that can support foreign exchange activity outside traditional banking hours.
